The Southeast Tennessee Political Action
Committee (SETPAC) is a non-profit organization
committed to promoting and encouraging
responsible stewardship of the public
trust. We do this by supporting worthy causes and
qualified local and statewide candidates
for political office.
SETPAC is not affiliated with any political
party and is a non-partisan organization.
We endorse candidates whom we feel will
honorably serve the best interest of
the community, regardless of political
party.
To be endorsed by SETPAC, candidates
must prove to be informed about issues
and positions, show a genuine interest
in the well-being of the community,
and demonstrate strong leadership and
decision-making capabilities. They must
have experience and the foundation for
a successful campaign, a track record
of success, and an understanding of
the core mission and values of SETPAC.
After interviewing candidates for a particular race, SETPAC members vote on endorsement
by secret
ballot.
In
addition
to
receiving
SETPAC's
public
endorsement,
candidates
chosen
by
SETPAC
also
receive
financial
backing
in
amounts
ranging
from
$250
to
$1,000.
